Are you looking for assessment tools for your employee’s growth and development that will impact their and ultimately your organizations effectiveness and productivity? The process of trying to decide which ones are the best fit for your employee’s and organization is much more complicated than it used to be since there are now over 3000 assessments on the market. With so many choices today it is hard to know how to effectively evaluate them, their purpose and use.
I frequently get these questions from HR and OD colleagues as well as other consultants and coaches. I think this forum is a great place for all of us to share what our experiences have been in evaluating assessments, what kind of process anyone has been through and to ask questions. A few questions that come to mind are:
– How do I determine the right assessment for my employees and organization?
– How do I go about evaluating who is a well-qualified administrator?
– How can I make an assessment the most positive and effective experience for my employee’s and organization.
What are your experiences and questions? By sharing as a group we can all learn best practices from each other and build a valuable resource.
NOTE: This forum is a companion discussion to the webinar series on the same topic. (Registration is free and offers you the opportunity to sign up for 6 SHRM PDC recertification credits.)
We hope you found the first in our series of six webinars on personality assessment tools yesterday beneficial. We look forward to continuing the discussion here. One question that was submitted during the webinar was “I’ve been hired to revamp our company’s on-boarding and training programs. Where should I start with deciding which assessments to use?” Our expert panel advised to take into account what has previously been created and by who and to be respectful of that and take it into account. Secondly, begin with the organizations goals and alignment to these. What experience have you had that you can share with our group?
