How can you make sure people know how great you are?

It’s not bragging if you’re helping others be great too. Teach success.

I get asked all the time how to talk confidently about your abilities and potential without sounding stuck up. There are several strategies, but the basic one is – if you don’t want to brag, don’t. Challenge yourself to find another way to share the information. The only no-no is to stay silent.

How to answer that challenge? The primary strategy is to make sure in your heart that you don’t actually think you’re better than everyone else. Your mouth almost always knows what your heart is feeling, so make sure you’re heart’s in the right place before you open your mouth.

But go a step farther. Don’t just share your successes; share what you learned about success. Share the 1-2 key lessons learned that helped you achieve great outcomes. Teach success.

People appreciate it when others share their secrets to success. So share.
