INSIGHT: Flow

too fast

Wow. Friday already? Where did the week go?

When things are moving “too fast” ask yourself if you’re rushing or flowing. Flow is better.

I asked for a lot and I got it! Woot! The dog caught the bus and now it’s time to run.

Despite the mixed metaphors, I’ve noticed something about this week’s chaos. It’s flowing more because in an effort to stay up with the rush, I stopped fighting the inevitable eddies and currents that feel like they work against what I’m trying to “get done.”

When the bank flubbed up my paperwork (again!) I took care of it and worked an extra hour that night – spending no energy being angry at the poor banker fighting her own bureaucracy to get my account fixed.

When the client meeting moved, I moved with it and let go of that extra mile walk, committing to put in the extra mile this weekend.

When I started seeing double on the screen, I got up and walked around a little more.

When I couldn’t join my husband for dinner, I apologized sincerely and we made plans for Friday night.

It all just flowed because I put no energy into fighting what was and simply put all my energy into dealing with it.

I can’t wait for my evening with my husband tonight. What can you do to celebrate all you’ve accomplished this week without fighting “what is”?
