How to Be Your Best 24/7 [Video]

by | May 29, 2014 | Career Development

It’s easy to get paranoid thinking that the people who can be helping your career are watching you 24×7, and it’s easy to become exhausted trying to impress everyone all the time. But the fact is that you are always surrounded by people how can help you. How can you shine all the time without going crazy? Dana has a suggestion from her new eBook on How to Attract An Executive Sponsor. – InPower Editors

It’s a fact that to advance our careers, lead with confidence and inspire others we have to be “on”… showing our best side… putting our best foot forward, leading from the heart etc. This is how we show others the best of what we’re capable of, but it sounds exhausting, doesn’t it?

Being “on” certainly can be exhausting if you’re feeling judged and trying to hide things about yourself others can use against you. But it’s a totally different experience to be “on” when you’re focused on giving those who already support you evidence they can use to talk you up to others.

This subtle, but powerful, mind trick is what I call “speaking to the invisible wo/man in the room,” and it simply requires that in every business interaction you imagine an invisible woman or man next to you. This invisible ally is already on your side and is simply taking notes about what you do best so they can talk you up to others later. You don’t need to convince them that you’re good. All you need to do is BE good, thereby giving them evidence to back up their already-strong belief in you.

In fact, when you’re focused on creating evidence of your ability to your allies, you’ll be surprised at how many times the real people in the room turn out to be (and become) your allies, and the invisible person becomes visible!

Here’s a short video I made on this concept.

This is my favorite of 7 authentic strategies that I’ve developed to help you step into your leadership potential. Download the ebook and participate in our May 30, 2014 coaching call on How To Attract and Executive Sponsor by registering for my InPower Coffee Break discussion community.
