The ABCs of Giving

by | Dec 25, 2014 | Coaching Advice, Insights & Inspiration, Personal Mastery

Today is a day of gifts and loving all over the world. Whether you celebrate it as a holiday, find yourself alone or surrounded by friends today, we hope everyone who sees this receives our gifts of appreciation for being part of our community and passes gratitude and appreciation on to everyone they meet. Just imagine how many people will receive that gift? – InPower Editors

What is a gift?

It’s nothing but the intention to part with something of value that is received as valuable by another.

We can gift things of course, and we do, but giving the gifts inside us can be even more meaningful

. . . Appreciation for a job well done, or a good attempt made

. . . Belief in someone who is struggling to believe in themselves…

. . . Compassion for ourselves when we can do what needs to be done, if not all that we wish we could do…

The list goes on but you get the point.

Here’s the catch, though, and where most of us get tripped up. The gift only works if we believe it has value before we give it. So we must give Appreciation, Belief and Compassion to ourselves first.

This is my gift to you because I hold them so dear to myself. Appreciation that you are your own unique light in the world and bring that light to our community. Belief that you make a difference and that your difference matters. Compassion for the unmet potential and longing you still hope to bring to the world.

On this lovely day of rest (or whenever you’re reading this), my sincere wish is that you take a few moments to bring Appreciation, Belief and Compassion into your own heart and be with it’s warmth and joy. Then pass it on.

Merry Christmas!
