INSIGHT: Practice

get it right

Does practice make perfect? No. But that’s not a reason to skip it!

Why do we think we should get it right the first time?

Without practice, we’d never get feedback and without feedback we’d never know our impact on the world.

Without knowing our impact on the world, we could never adjust ourselves to having greater impact.

Thus, practice is critical to making the greatest impact on the world possible.

Here’s the question I keep pondering: do we ever stop practicing at life?

I don’t think I’ll ever stop practicing because then we’d be accepting that we’ve maxed out our impact and I just can’t see myself doing that while I have breath in me. (Feel free to check back in a few years and see if I still feel that way.)

What about you? Is your life a practice?
