So many times it seems as though our efforts to produce change are producing nothing instead. Look under the surface and see what you see.
When nothing’s happening, plenty can be happening out of sight.
Movie magic can make us want to see change in our lives and in our work as though from the tip of a wand. We love to observe cause and effect in the same heart beat. Seeing cause and effect so clearly is very validating, but real magic is rarely so clear.
Real magic can take days, months or years to produce results. Want to create real change? Learn to see the signs of progress along the way. Learn to explain it to others so they can see it too. Learn to cultivate patience by defining success in meaningful increments.
When you see cause and effect in the same vicinity, enjoy it and learn from it, but don’t define success so narrowly that that’s all you believe the magic of change can be.
