INSPIRATION: Celebrate

by | May 6, 2013 | Coaching Advice, Insights & Inspiration

Yesterday…. I turned older. Maybe wiser, I’m not sure. But older, I’m sure.

There’s something fun about trying to stop time for a few minutes once a year and look backwards and forwards through the timeline of my life. I do this on my birthday and on New Years.

And I always ask myself, “Am I who I want to be?”

I think about my kids, and my husband, and my staff and my colleagues and my clients and I ask myself, “Is who I am helping them?”

When I can answer, “yes” to both those questions, I stop the introspection and enjoy the celebration. When I say “no” or “maybe,” I’m a little late to the party.

But I always go to the party eventually. You can only stop time so long and then the world moves on.

This year was easy. YES. YES.

How about you? You don’t need a birthday to do this. You can do this any day of the year. Can you get on to the party or will you be a little late today?

I would like you to dance (Birthday). Take a cha-cha-cha-chance” ~ The Beatles
