INSPIRATION: Laugh Anyway

by | Dec 17, 2012 | Coaching Advice, Insights & Inspiration

No matter what you celebrate, the end of the year should be a time of celebration and love. It doesn’t always work that way, of course. Sometimes tragedy tries to suck the joy from even the happiest times.

This is the time when I find it easiest to lose focus on why we’re celebrating in the first place. In the sadness of grieving parents and the bustle and busy that doesn’t stop for tragedy, I can forget the point of it all. I keep thinking I’ll be joyful then… when… after… on…

That’s the exact moment I believe we all need to start the joy. Turn it on. Don’t wait. Feel it now.

When things are really sad or stressful, find something to laugh at. Even dark humor can light up joy in your heart. Go ahead. Look around you. Find something funny in all this and laugh out loud. Find the real joy and cling to it.

Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand. – Mark Twain
