We think when we get a promotion or a new project we’ll have the control we need to make a difference.
But it doesn’t work that way. Control is a figment of our imaginations. We control things and we are controlled. We are just pawns on the game board until we choose to be in the game.
The moment you accept full, 100% responsibility for being in the game you’re playing – controlling what you control, and not controlling what you don’t and choosing to be there – you’re in total control.
You don’t have to control the game to be in control.
You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you. –Brian Tracy
